Cello Headstart 2021

We are excited to invite you to Cello Headstart!

Designed as an introduction to Suzuki music education, Headstart is a three-day class for prospective families.

Join us for a fun adventure! Suzuki cello teacher Anne Rankin will introduce the beautiful sounds of the cello using interactive activities. These include aspects such as observational skills, self-evaluation, and teamwork. The children and their parents will learn about the Suzuki Method by seeing it in action. There will be small cellos available for the children to try.

  • For children ages 3 to 7.
  • Parent participation is required.
  • Instruments or musical experience are not needed.
Dates: August 24-26 (Tues, Wed, and Thurs)
Time: 10:00 - 10:45 am
Location:   PLAST Ukrainian Centre, 516 The Kingsway (at Kipling). Here is a map.
Free on-site parking.
Fee: $50


Deadline to submit the Headstart Registration Form: Sunday, August 15.

The Headstart class is subject to enrollment size, where a minimum number of students is needed for the class to run.

When the class is confirmed to run, the ESM Administrator will email an invoice for the class fee to you. Please wait to receive your invoice before making any payments to ESM.

Toronto Public Health

As per the requirements described by Toronto Public Health:

  • Upon entering the building each day, each individual must check in at the COVID-19 screening station.
  • A physical distance of at least two metres must be maintained between individuals from different households.
  • City of Toronto bylaw: Each individual must wear a mask that covers their nose, mouth, and chin when they are indoors, unless they are entitled to an exception (younger than two years old, or have a medical condition that inhibits the ability to wear a mask).

If you are entitled to a mask exception, please contact us prior to registering for the Headstart class.
